CHALLENGE:

A long-standing North Sea client identified the potential of Wellvene’s award-winning InterLift system after seeing the technology demonstrated at an industry event. The system offered a clear opportunity to improve red-zone safety during a large multi-well campaign.

While the operational benefits of the InterLift system were clear, the project presented a unique engineering challenge: adapting the InterLift system for subsea deployment on a semi-submersible using a coil tubing lift frame- an application that had not been explored to date.

SOLUTION:

Wellvene and the customer initiated a focused collaboration to engineer a solution tailored to this unique setup. The existing InterLift system was modified to integrate seamlessly with the vessel’s coil tubing lift frame, demonstrating the system’s inherent modularity and adaptability across multiple applications.

From initial concept to field delivery, the accelerated project timeline spanned only
three weeks once key requirements were agreed - highlighting the efficiency of the
joint development process. The customized InterLift system is continuing with a four-year deployment and is supporting wireline operations across 52 wells requiring coil-tubing-based intervention.

RESULT/VALUE CREATED:
The successful adaptation of the InterLift system enabled the client to implement a subsea intervention solution that addressed the original challenge of improving red-zone safety while maintaining operational efficiency.
