A Brand New Approach to Surface Intervention - InterFrame™

At the 31st SPE ICoTA European Well Intervention Conference in Aberdeen, our Commercial Manager Kevin Giles took delegates through Wellvene’s four-year journey in transforming surface intervention, before unveiling InterFrame™, a completely new system developed to redefine how these operations are carried out.

InterFrame™ has been designed from the ground up and represents a fundamental shift in how surface intervention is performed. By integrating all essential equipment into a single, self-contained unit, the system removes many of the long-standing inefficiencies and safety risks that have shaped intervention campaigns for decades. The lightweight ~3 ton InterFrame has a built-in crew access platform, combined with a brand new screw-jack lifting mechanism and 70 knot wind rating all contribute to a streamlined, predictable and robust operational setup.

Compatible with both slickline and e-line, and capable of accommodating up to 60 ft (18 m) of lubricator, InterFrame™ gives operators a safe and efficient alternative to traditional wireline mast rig-ups. The design eliminates the need for masts, scaffolding platforms and activities near dynamic suspended loads, while also reducing manual handling through a much simplified rig-up.

During the presentation, Kevin emphasised the system’s flexibility, with its compact footprint and multi-leg positioning allowing InterFrame™ to straddle deck obstacles, adapt to constrained well bays and maintain well access even in challenging tight spaces Additionally, this new design helps retain the rapid well-to-well transfer philosophy that has become a hallmark of Wellvene’s surface intervention solutions, delivered through only two simple lifts.
